Chris  Wilson, Vice President

Chris Wilson

Chris is responsible for LeighFisher’s operations in the UK and Europe. He specialises in business development and advising on, and managing large scale infrastructure, PPP and government restructuring programmes. His career experience is in PPPs, energy/utilities and management consultancy. He joined LeighFisher from Jacobs Engineering, where he was an Executive Director in the Global Sales Infrastructure team. His previous career was as Executive Director of PPP advisors 4ps; VP UK and Europe American Electric Power; Manager International Strategy and Acquisitions PowerGen (now EON UK); and Management Consultant/European Development Manager at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants. He has an MBA and an MA from Oxford University.

At 4ps, the PPP and PFI consultancy advising on PPPs in highways management, waste management, education, housing, and corporate efficiency services he was a member of Defra’s Waste Infrastructure Delivery Programme (WIDP) Board, which oversees England’s waste PFI programme; the Partnerships for Schools (PfS) Board which oversaw the Building Schools for the Future programme and the LGA’s Local Government Board. He advised the Communities and Local Government department on commissioning and public sector procurement and was appointed a Beacons Judge for Procurement Excellence.

At American Electric Power, he was responsible for UK investments in Seeboard Group plc (now EdF Energy) where he was a plc Board member, and Yorkshire Electricity (now RWE NPower), where he was a member of the Management Board, as well as for European business development with a particular focus on Germany. At PowerGen (now EON UK) he gained international experience of power project development, market development studies and power station acquisition assessments covering Asia Pacific, India, Australia, Brazil and the USA.

At Price Waterhouse he specialised in strategic market entry and development and corporate finance related due diligence work. He was also appointed European Development Manager, working closely with the European management and senior partner team to develop the practice, and in particular to build a unified consultancy practice and culture across Europe covering all of the key sectors and service lines.

Chris is a member of the PPP Journal Editorial Board and the World Bank PPP Forum.
